I have a 22" widescreen and a regular 19", their resolution heights are roughly the same (1050 and 1024) so its not that weird, but I think it might be weird if the difference in their heights were larger.
19) Right Click the viewport name "persective" and turn on "viewport clipping". It will give you a little yellow arrow/slider on the side of the viewport, dial it up and down to adjust the clipping distance =)

Second the dual monitors comment. You can get two 19"-21" monitors for the same or less than one 24"-26". I have an Acer at work and home, and love them.
also, how long does it usually take you guys to process and create a scene? with how many photos? i did one with 19 photos and it still hasnt emailed me back.
