Sand king kinda done. Anyone else mad sandking stuff and found the shader masks to be wack? I want a nice glossy earwing insect slimy carapass look but its just not happening with this guy. I think the yellow spec mixed with a global reduction in spec value makes this impossible :(
Hi It says in my spec I have open cl 1.0 when I open Gnald. My crappy specs are: windows 7 64 bit nvidia 310m geforce with cuda 512mb(zbrush, udk, and 3ds max all still work fine for me) i7 core 1.60ghz
Ty for you comments, Im using 3 point lighting, and ive turned all spec off, i prefer to concentrate on just the colour map first then start lookin at spec etc. The wierd tris might be the AO map, i've not smoothed it out yet. Anyway, starting texturing.. again.
yea right now the spec looks like a copy of the diffuse with the contrast cranked up a bit. this usually isnt the best way to go about it. try adding some information into the spec that isnt in the diffuse, so when light rolls over it details that you dont normally see show up.

Looking sweet, nice and clean. My only crit would be that the slide and flashlight spec are far to similar to the handle. The pictures on google have those areas accentuated in specular. Although it may just be the lighting in your renders being a little flat. How's the spec look with some stronger lighting?

Started working on the Diffuse this evening, still very WIP. default spec and a simple emissive map. lots to do but Im hoping to have this ready by thee nd of the weekend :) Imageshack kind of killed the subtle purple tinted spec, turning it disco purple... need to find a better solution somehow.
thanks, I knew somebody would say that about the last shot, I agree with you. at the time, i was mainly concerned with skin diffuse and spec. i didn't pay attention to the teeth^^. not even normal and spec on it. if i get more free time, i might get it finished^^
GarageBay9- Yes we are since its the upgraded version lol. Rang3r1- Its 1024x1024. I recieved some specs on how the guns were done in CoDmw2 and I am trying to do my own version with the specs. Which were 3-4k tris and 1000x1000 texture sheet.
