I think you're going into it with the right attitude and skill set. Coming off of a self taught binge you're more likely to get more out of it than someone who has been spoon fed curriculum and is used to forgetting things the second they turn in a test. I think they focus on totally the right things and at the core they…
1. I don't think the 'High vs Low Poly' thing is the decider, it's more a case of where the asset will end up. Regardless of how the textures are created, your target platform will determine your triangle budget. Hand painted textures and toon styling are often associated with low poly because the large majority of…
Hey guys. I had to finish up the environment a bit earlier than I wanted to :( . I have to get an internship next term since i'm in my final year in college and I'll need something to show to studios. I'll probably end up coming back to this in the future but until then, here it is. And in the end. The title remained to be…
Well I need to get in a habit of starting these thread at the start a project instead of at the end but as usual I haven't. This is a small scene iv been working on for a short time and I am approaching the end so looking for some final suggestions/ feedback before I do final renders and lay it to rest never to be worked…
So far I find it best for doing various edge masks just on top of a final normal map . Tried to make it work in Painter but as always it's weird and never same , works only on square textures i.e a dead end. Want to recreate it for Blender shader editor. I see it sort of shift iteratively in x and y positive and negative…
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/0lWoNV Hello everyone, I'm making one of the most hated characters of the second season of the Arkane series again. I still think that she was not treated fairly at all. She is sweet, kind and responsive!!! At the end of the series, she did not betray, it was revenge for treason! P.S.…
that doesnt look like a baking error, but a "simple" projecttion error? what does the baked mesh look like without the texture applied? a quick hacky fix would be masking the edges and highlighting them to blend the top end the side together a bit more.
i hope people know what i'm talking about when i type this, or i'm gonna look like a right twat. it relates to Elhrrah's post. i had quite a few decks, i had decks which i would use often, my "favorites". i had decks which i didn't use much, or were "unrefined". my two favorite decks revolved around this setup: green/white…
Hi, i have a question about the way the enviroments in The order 1886 were modeled. For example here (from David Budlong's amazing ArtStation) Why are perfectly flat surfaces like the floor or these panels on the left subdivided so much? Also in this pic, even the glasses in the windows are inset. Why is that? From looking…
Thank you all for the tremendous response. I am desperately trying to get through all the mail and respond to everyone who reached out. The character positions are filled as is one of the environment positions. I expect to have more soon and will be posting them in a separate thread here. For now I am still looking for env…
