If just the shape, you could literally start with a sphere, squash and stretch it till you block out the main shape, delete 3/4th of it and you now have a workable mass you could push and pull verts as needed. Zergxes: If you're talking about "making things squishy" via Deformers, you should probably try the FFD (free form deformation) modifiers in Max's drop-down list. You can apply them to vert/edge/face selections, or to entire objects.
