first low poly test in blender, just did the torso to see how things look. its currently sitting a bit high at about 1600 tri , my target for was about 5000 tri .. so that leaves me 3400 to do the arms and leg.. so 800 or so for each limb ? not very much but it might still work.
Thanks Daz. That tank almost got me my first real full time job at least two years ago so I sort of have a little love for it. The art lead of the team really loved it, but he felt my work was inconsistent. All the models are made to fit in RTS games except the Cute Tank. I do hate the very hard highlights on the M1 tank…

Try to disable the AA and change from/to the DX9 graphics driver to the OGL one while, pls. @Spark: With around 2Gb(free, not total) I was able to create a normal map for the Lucy mesh (114M points, 34M poly mesh) sucessfully. It's an outstanding camera; TV and Hollywood productions are starting to incorporate it into their shoots (an episode of House was filmed with it for exmaple, and I think David Fincher used one during the production of The Social Network).…
I agree with Tumerboy, it just too busy. You haven't given any indications as to what your poly- and texturebudgets, if you are going to use normal and/or spec maps and what game (if any) this is for so it's hard to give any more crits right now. I would however seriously consider modeling more middle scale detail such as…
Chainswords are meant to be seen from the side. The front is the least exciting view of a chainsword, they're all about the silhouette. Can you post some side shots of this? The blade in the 34th's shot seems both too thin and not deep enough. Additionally, your proportions for your blade are totally off. With the way a…
