Personally I like to have a base mesh with really rough anatomy and move the clothes to fit that. it really helps the clothes feel like there is something there. Just a tip that I use.
Hello everyone. My work for Escape from Tarkov game cinematic. My responsibilities were clothes sewing, clothes simulation, modeling (gun, props, enviroment, part of interior).
Usually best along natural clothing seams. Kind of natural if you think about it... all those sewn pieces started out as flat cloth, not unlike a UV layout.
the mouth and ears look like a little shark trying to escape :P I like that the cloth on his waist reads as cloth/fabric ...not so much for whatever is on the upper half
Second update. Done some clothes / armor base meshes in Maya. Done some work on anatomy to. Now going to simulate some cloth for the skirt. Good day guys!
Then i use the coliision shape editor and put some capsules in the body and then for the cloth physics i use the patterns for the clothes The character will need some corrections but its nothing difficult
Have a think about the textures - is he wearing clothes? I normally place my UV seams in the same place that seams are on clothing. The inside of the legs, the inside of the arms etc.
finally some update! :) like I said before, I adjusted her body so it's more like the reference I drew while designing.
