With the optics in VR headsets your eyes adjust into a relaxed focus state, in theory it should be better for your eyes than staring at a screen. Example answer from the FAQ for the Oculus Rift:
Yeah in the end I just used the relax function for those parts. It has done it before a few times on pieces that aren't just long strips. So I dunno really.

Have you seen someone actually mirror the channel when they've gotten this advice? Its semantic, relax. You're flipping the values, or you're inverting the values, its the same shit.
sculpt asymetrical.... create a symmetrical version out of it... do a symmetrical retopo... load the asym highress version and use the relax brush to make the new topo asymmetrical... works fine in maya...

Parting of the lips should be roughly where middle of top incisors is or slightly below that which make yours incorrect I checked your reference sheet and there is still no good relaxed side view
