When doing noob challenge I have learned one particular thing. It's not quality of single asset that make scene, but how the quality of all assets sums up. You can spend hours on polishing this one single thing to be super quality, but in the end it is lost in grand scheme of things, if you don't particularly expose it.… -

you're looking at one part of the whole sum. and that's why it doesn't look like it's working to you. the whole sum for the BRDF is: (D*F*G)/(4 * NoL * NoV) where D = that custom node (Specular Distribution), G = geometric shadowing, F = fresnel. see supporting images here for the the full formula node. with one-minus… -

Terrain does in fact have UVs, it's automatic, top-down planar. In the default terrain shader, you specify tiling amount of the textures. Splatmap never tiles, it always covers entire terrain.
