I don't get why UDK runs fine on my machine here at home, but runs like syrup on the Alienware machines in my school's lab... I'm running AMD+Radeon and the Alienware are Intel+Nvidia
How many miles a week are you planning on running? If you plan on doing 20 or more I'd say get a separate pair for running. Walking in your running shoes will change how the footbed compresses.

I used to love Mudbox. At some point (maybe a decade ago? IDK) it stopped running on Geforce GPUs and demanded Quadra instead. I'm guessing they reversed that at a later date...
@AndyC_Art try reducing the intensity of the normal map in this area, or running a normalize filter on the normal map, it's possible that invalid normal vectors are being used here which could cause shading artifacts
As long as all the ram modules run at the same voltage you're ok. However if their voltages are different you risk hitting constant bluescreens. Whatever the slowest rated ram runs at (Mhz) That's what all the ram will run at.
