Nice to hear. The only thing I'm waiting for right now is addon support. There's still a few addons I use on 2.79 that are not yet compatible with 2.8.

Quick note, when it comes to unwrapping, I find the TextTools addon for Blender and the UV Packmaster addon to be extremely helpful. Unfortunately, TextTools is only available in 2.8 at the moment.

Regarding the slowdowns : I do have quite a few addons running, therefore I will investigate further by selectively disabling addons first. I'll report what I find in the bugs thread :)
