Think of an octopus-like, sinusoidal movement. :) -

The tree trunk looks more like a land octopus than a tree trunk. Tone down it's specular, look at some reference, since the texture looks a bit misplaced now too. Did you photosource it or make it yourself? I like the little alien critters, or whatever those things are. -

Why not put in a cute little octopus? Just look at him. Really. I joined when I was about 11-12 and my user name was poochy, I think. Remember that? I stalked the request forums daily, and requested shit all the time. Thinking back, I was really annoying. -

There's some crazy awesome stuff goin on in here! I did a quick n' dirty concept of a submarine from the Lemony Snicket book "The Grim Grotto". They're really great books and they had a description of an octopus-like submarine with whirring metal legs. Planning on doing this in 3D as well. -

yea! i feel ive seen it before a couple of times, but still its a really well done job the sharpness of the nose and the lips, the chin, the horns works great together for character very good execuation man i agree with daz, shiny black eyes, octopus like, may work better -

A take on the character from the H.P. Lovecraft short story "The Shadow over Innsmouth". I see many human-fish hybrids where really quite a 'cool' or 'fearsome' aquatic animal is spliced in (shark-man, octopus head etc.) so I thought it would be fun to do something goofy like the Oranda goldfish. -

this is quite a challenge you gave yourself! but I like where you're going, maybe to take it easy on your hands, you could draw the sea life along currents? I guess the way you have it on the red line sketch... the octopus will give you a nice break! awesome job, can't wait for finished version! -

Some fun ideas you have there. I like the flying hamburger monster and that octopus thing in the first image looks cool. You are quite right in your critique. I was being lazy with the design. I made some small changes so hopefully it looks better. + one more environment. Some kind of factory. -

My weekends work. Probably could have been uv'ed better but good enough. mainly made for a lab prop (octopus specimin in a jar) but will probably be boned and animated at some point. Cut down alot of polys for in jar prop, it is only 600 polys. Fun anyway, haven't done much in the way of sealife before.
