I tested your meshes in Marmoset using the tessellation that was recently implemented. The sphere tests were not that different, even though the quad sphere subdivided much more evenly. You've got a couple of places where poly distribution isn't handled well. Most noticably his mohawk is still pretty darn jaggy, and the outermost tubes can use a couple extra segments as well.
