You seem to have wasted a lot of time in this! I only have experience in Maya, but ive never had a problem like this. I'm sry if some of my ideas have been posted but im short on time and cant read the whole thread. -try freezing the transformations. when this is not done, at least in maya, weird stuff happens with the…
also holding down w+lmb is the same as ctrl+shit+rmb, which i guess just works better for me since if i am going to be accessing that menu, it will be transform related usually, so my hand just moves to the transform shortcuts automatically......n-e-ways.... i agree with sama.van to some extent. remapping everything might…

I think a clean model requires a couple of things. I'm definitely not an authority on this stuff, but here are things I keep in mind: The mesh should be pretty evenly distributed. Of course you want more divisions where there is detail/deformation and less where there is not, but generally speaking long triangles/quads…
I was hoping you were sarcastic when you said: 1) The listener is a PoS, it works like crap. I wonder what sort of scripts you were writing if it gave you something useful- for anything beyond a very introductory level, it simply does not work correctly if at all. 2) Again, you are very lucky if you rarely run into…
@DavidCruz your absolutely right about it being a vehicle. I probably should of posted this earlier but it's supposed to be like a transformer of some kind. Though it would be awesome if my model could actually transform, I think that's a bit above my pay grade. I really like that idea about the hidden wheel in the foot.…
It has been a while. I have been working on the mockup of the model. He is now rigged with bones and can transform to all three different states. I havent done the hands yet and neither the landing gears. I am quite happy with the result. It has sure been a bit tricky to get everything to work. Next step will be to finish…
Everything needs moar dirt! It looks good otherwise, but I suspect you're being shy about the process. Don't be! Things are dirty! Ok, maybe not so much. I'm thinking that you don't really need zBrush for these though. It really does help with the pallet, but if you were working on a game with a small team or by yourself…
I was blown away by the Bioshock television commercial, so an ending cinematic consisting of around a minute of sappy narrative over closeups of aging hands was a major letdown. The "evil" ending was only slightly more interesting but equally hurried and vague. I would have liked to know a lot more about the fate of the…
You only need closed meshes when using an auto LOD because those don't handle open edges very well (though they know which vertices are supposed to be welded). Maybe an engine can use other stuff as well that requires closed meshes but usually, no. I'm not exactly sure what constitutes a surface but AFAIUnderstood all…
