Spacemonkey my hat off to the whole team that game looks f-ing outstanding . Along with Crises and UR7/Gears of war that is the best looking and truly Next Gen game ive seen..and certainly the best looking RPG for the next gen by far . I'll be waiting very impatiantly for this game !
Max (and maya) does not support alpha sorting very well in the slightest, so really, no matter what you do, you are likely to get crazy errors like this in the viewport. Max basically doesn't know what to render on top of hat when alpha is involved. its a pain in the arse.
Thanks @LeahM, three characters is what I'm planning for. One is cold and calculating, another moody and tough and a the third cheerful with dark secret. I drew up a few more characters to get a feel for the angle they will be viewed in game. Hats had to be near falling off to see any of their faces!
I agree haha, Im convinced shes not actually human just half- dummy half- turret gatling gun trap with no legs. Almost like a scarecrow, just place it somewhere and let it do it's work. Did some work on the hair and hat today, blocking in the actual strands and flowers.
I immediately thought of Playstation Plus when I saw the hat :smiley: Not sure why, just thought I'd share Otherwise seems like a nice start. She seems a bit bigger than in the concept I guess (not taller), take a look at the hands for example. Keep it up!
Amazing stuff, been following your progress for a while and have to agree with other you've made amazing progress and documented it well for the whole community to learn from. Hats off for that! Inspires me to try and work harder to finish my scene. All this stuff goes to my inspirational folder!
Yes that's true. The black hawk has 3300 polys and even transparent glass ingame, but hl can't handle more than around 2700 polys. We just hat to split the model up and code them together with some tricks you can get a lot out of hl
Looks cool! I think you could have stuck his backpack out a bit further, or increased the field of view of the camera. There is a curve to the head/hat which I think you missed, and I think you could reduce the roughness of the eyes. Other than that, looks awesome!
I really love the architecture sketches. First one is my favorite I think :) As critique - they are all symmetrical, I think you can break the symmetry occasionally to make them more interesting.And I love the creature with the hat :D I think he loves jazz hahaha
