Thanks heboltz! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a hell of a time getting the mount and rider to match.:P It probably gets harder and harder the less armor the mount has, too, since you have less manmade stuff to work with. On an unarmored mount, I think a well-designed blanket's probably the obvious go-to,…
Ben, i'm kind of on a tight time budget, as i'm making two demo reels before GDC one for my characters and one for my level props. So this weekend i have to have the character demo reel done for the characters. That means some drops in quality , that and i have been working on this bastarrd for WAY too long. Vig, thanks…
Hi there! Congrats on the internship! I'm one of the NS2 env artists, and I can give you a bit of feedback to make this more in line with the NS2 maps if you like. Firstly, it feels very blocky. It feels more like a concrete bunker than a lab/research facility or whatever. It's the blocky walls and 90 degree corner that is…
I'm glad you found it helpful! Definitely do external sheets, they are helpful for when sketchfab can't or won't work. We also can't see how your textures are laid out in Sketchfab and that can be really important information to show if you're doing tiled textures or trim sheets. Peacekeeper and Troublemaker just don't…
Thanks! :) First of all thanks for the encouragement! As for the wear&tear I guess you are right, I could have spared some parts. I just went with it when I imagined the gun to be really old, probably used by multiple people for decades. The paint peeling out by itself more than for the gun use. For the color scheme I'm…
Hello! Here’s another update on my new project 🙂 I’m still working on graybox shapes, scale, and composition. At this stage, I’m introducing placeholder assets to strengthen the storytelling while keeping the scene clear, readable, and free from texture or material noise. One of the ways I generate ideas for this project…
He posted that while I was working on a reply. Probably wouldn't have bothered replying if he had mentioned it in the original post =P Hopefully someone will get some millage out it... You create two splines one is a profile spline (a cross section of your road) the other is a path. This covers sweep and loft pretty well.…
Honestly I don't even know what a company would hire you to do. As mentioned it's a hodgepodge of mixed skills with no focus. Jack of all trades, master of none. With regards to 3d, The only thing I see about your knowledge of normal mapping skills is that you can press a couple buttons in Crazybump or the Photoshop…
Hi! If this is a platform built out of wood boards, you could map the boards UV strips to a horizontally tiling wood trim, offsetting them for variation.
I do not plan on adding normal map to the main car body, mainly because of the reflections artifacts because compression. Also I'm planning for a GTA-IV like detail, and they do not use normal maps on the main body. The engine has blinn-phong shading. I'm going to try and get a pic of it ingame, but sadly my GPU died and…
