I can understand in some situations that zbrush/mudbox are the best solution ie carved walls, doors,pillars, etc and object detailing but general floor and wall textures I`m still not convinced. in newer versions there is 'Local Aligned' but doesn't always work. i use Extend Borders script. it has some quirks like it doesn't work with an Edit poly modifier, you need to have Edge constraint off and sometimes you need to toggle Straighten Corners if it's bugging out. But apart from that i use it everyday.…

OK as for 41 k triangles i don't work in the game industry yet. so I just do what i want thus far, learning on my own. its 41K polies for BOTH sides of teh gun/scope/clip fully mirrored from left to right. If i planned it to be fps only model in a particular game engine with solved animations, i could delete many faces…
you don't need to do WOW stuff... its just that a lot of your work seems to be going in that direction... this might be why people direct you towards wow artist, (I know I did for that reason). Not a fan of the metal pipes with bolts. Kinda feel like they are out of context. Why engineers would make metal "coffering" (?) and not hide those ? Also i wouldn't imagine those elecric plugs to be so... like at home. Maybe more industrial, like this…
