in the P&P forums, not in the SDK thread. SDKs go to the SDK thread, where people find SDKs to skin on. Results usually go in the WIP thread or a new thread, sometimes titled "[modelname] SDK adventures" Would you like to sift through an SDK thread's posts full of results trying to find a SDK download?
Euuuuuugh star wars. When I saw Lucas Art I was being utterly dumb and thinking: OH MY GOD A OLD STYLE ADVENTURE GAME WITH THIS WOULD BE AWESOME! SOLVING PUZZLES! INITIATING CONVERSATION! And then I realized Lucas only has one cow, a dead one, that they keep getting milk out of, SOMEHOW.
Mine is to be more adventurous, to take chances and step out of my comfort zone a lot more. Not to take the easy way out just because that way there are no surprises. I've got some big plans in the works right now. And for something more tangible, one resolution is to sit up straight all the time and correct my posture.
I would get rid of the spotlight beams in the middle render though, they obscure the model a bit and make no sense in what appears to be daylight...other than that beautiful work riddlaz, the model is ace. Reminds me of the main vehicle from a movie when I was a kid: Space Hunter, adventures in the forbidden zone....ahhh…
Thanks KJ. Yeah I think I'm going to try and polish her up soon for a portfolio. Not sure what else to add to the shoes, they did have some zbrush detail but that's been lost in the texture. Yeah the glove seams are in the texture and not the unwrap. I think she kinda fails at being an adventure type of character.. lol.
I really agree that it's visually jarring, it does remind me of Mario Bros Super Show and Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3 where in both the brothers visit the real world. In those however the real world still has a cartoony look so it doesn't make the Mario Bros stand out that much xD
Logged some procrastination time with these new concepts. Really need to focus on my drawing. The top one might not work because of animations and such and the bottom one might not suite Abbadon. Will still be good practice for me. I am hoping too get a little more adventurous with my weapon designs before moving onto sets.
Hmm. I think as a character it visually works great! As Sakura, I'm not feeling "ninja" or "healer" at all. (she tended to be more academic about her combat, setting traps and using chakra efficiently, not so much a brawler) My instant impression was "platform adventure" "hover bike game" feel, which works really well.
things id like to use this for: -some sort of top down, rts type games, maybe some old school adventure games. -I have sketchbook on my iphone. A scaled up version for this would be nice. No pressure sensitivity, but still fun. You can get a stylus if you want. -browsing the web on the couch\bed.
It was The Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Sega Genesis. I wasn't on GSA, unfortunately. Even an emulator that allowed layer separating would be fantastic. Some of the environment work I did would be totally obscured by foreground layers, and the boss character I did for the game was on his own layer. Do you know of…
