Thanks for the kind words Conte. Maybe I should just link to the gigantic texture flats for Kathryn rather then post them as they are 2048 x 2048's . I'm sure they were shrunk down/downsampled a few times before going into the actual game. Initially the textures had been started by artist Isaac Owens. After my duties on…
@Mr. Moose I would suggest not going to such high resolution that early in the sculpt. Always have reference on hand. http://clz.deviantart.com/art/Different-Angles-of-a-Skull-370926521 Lastly, I wouldn't worry about other brushes. For practicing and getting used to Zbrush you can get a lot done with Move, Smooth,…
Buy a cheaper i7 3770k, and ddr3 memories at 2400mhz, and a good mobo with 16+8. Don't waste your money when you can buy the combo i said for less than 600€ in europe. Also, don't buy velociraptors... buy SSD if you want the best perfomance. There are OCZ vertex 4 128gb for 120 euros. If you are going to do game art (UDK),…
Get a 770 or 780 and save your self a lottttt of money. Both of these cards are way faster for anything game related (realtime shaders, unreal 4 or marmoset toolbag), and will run Max etc just fine. Also don't get a Titan, anything past a 780 represents a really poor value (unless you do a lot of CUDA stuff or something).…
You can also use PhotoShop Bridge > Output > Web Gallery Or you can do it the oldschool way, Photoshop > File > Automate > Web gallery. If you have CS4 or 5 you'll need to download and install the additional plug-ins to get those options that where in older versions normally. CS4 additional plug-ins…
You could get an i7 3770, which will be about 50% faster, but I'm not sure how smart that would be, with a new mobo, you could get a 5820k (which is twice as fast as Jed mentions) for perhaps not much more money than the 3770. Maybe you could find a cheap used 3770 on ebay or something. My personal guideline is not to…
