I cannot believe there is no out-of-the-box align tool, especially considering how essential it is for animation. It would take literally a few hours to create and test something like that... You can try this script, supposed to be like Max's align tool:…
lumen and nanite resource cost are both resolution dependent so (barring any driver/configuration issues) this is indeed most likely due to resolution. You might get a load of frames back if you switch to immersive mode cos the editor UI eats up a shitload of resources. that said though, lumen does not run very well in…
Just played it. ran okay on my 3870 but I figured Im 2 gens behind and I guess its time for a new video card. Hopefully it runs somewhat decent on ps3. Dont really notice lack of AA or screen tearing. Loving the soundtrack...I wish I could just sit in the car always.
Gigabyte is a good brand and I used them when I used to overlock. Generally if an Asus or Gigabyte is cheaper. Man I really need to get back and start to update my computer. My q6600 and 3870 are crying :( Whats the price on these suckers? Might just end up giving this rig to my brother and starting again.
What do you mean by "dual screening games"? First try to figure out the actual bottleneck as mentioned before. I assume that is 8GB RAM in total? Could be a bottleneck as well. As @m4dcow wrote, cheapest solution is to upgrade the CPU, you can check the prices for used i7 3770 as well. But if the GPU is the bottleneck,…
I'll throw a second vote for sager. I run everything and then some on my laptop(as a desktop replacement) And its a beast, and there's room to improve! Np9370 i7-3740 3.7Ghz on boost GTX680m(SLI Ready, only one card ATM) 16GB RAM 256GB SSD 750GB HDD 17" screen (The cheapest one you can get, Regrettably)
Dual CPU is a waste of money these days. Like Oglu said; if you want a lot of cores just get a Threadripper. As for the GPU, I'd wait to see when the 20GB 3080 or 16GB 3070 will release. The 3090 is a bit overkill and the 10GB 3080 is looking like a stop-gap measure on Nvidias part while they wait to see what AMD does.
An I7 isn't a need, but I sure do love having one. A 3770/4770 isn't thattttt expensive, just about $80 more than the I5 the OP has picked out. It really depends on what you do, I've been doing some video production stuff lately and I really appreciate my I7.
I've just reinstalled Blender and it did not fix the problem. Could it be my pc? I have an old laptop with an AMD A6-3400 APU with 500MB of VRAM clocked at 1.4GHz and only 4GB of RAM. Could that be the problem? I am not trying to open large files. I think the largest one I have is only 5 to 10MB.
first low poly test in blender, just did the torso to see how things look. its currently sitting a bit high at about 1600 tri , my target for was about 5000 tri .. so that leaves me 3400 to do the arms and leg.. so 800 or so for each limb ? not very much but it might still work.
