I'm definitely not expecting "floating gun" Quake 3 arena...compare a more realistic game where you aren't running at 50mph. Far Cry for example, had a realistic movement speed, but felt much more smooth than the movement in the previously mention FPS hybrids...
hah, the only reason i posted that was because you said 'realistic'. the they live fight is rumored to have been real, all except the head punches. Then again, the actors were WWF stars, so who's to say how real that is. your fight is indeed realistic though.
Great first sculpt man :) I agree that anatomy should be a key focus if you want to do characters :) , maybe try some more realistic proportions/anatomy before stylised, as a stylised face is still based on realistic features and proportions (just with them exagerated). But great first go
It does look goodbut something feels quite off. If you manage to find and fix it, you will be making realistic humans which we.would not be able to tell the difference. Also something to keep in mind, people tend to go with more vibrant colors in the objects whereas realistic models are more saturated! ;)
I think a female character, fairy realistic and with some hardsurface would be the ideal folowing. I mean that the first was a stylised (almost catoony) female, now we're working on a realistic in his mid 40s medieval male. We need a female again and we didn't tackle hardsurface yet.
I usually like doing it on airplane flights and places where a laptop/wacom combo isn't realistic. The lack of pressure stinks. But there are things like http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jonatherton/jaja-worlds-first-pressure-sensitive-stylus-for-ip in the pipes. So maybe soon that will be more realistic.
Because i feel like texturing is a weak point of mine, i try to photosource as little as possible, and achieve as close to realistic as i can without them. HOWEVER I do this purely as a learning exercise, it is quicker, easier, and more often than not better to photosource if you're doing anything realistic.
If dDo is cheating then using photo ref in your textures is cheating. You must hand paint everything to not cheat. This includes photo-realistic models. If you don't know how to paint and draw photo-realistically, how dare you take a photo of rust or scratches and "automate" the painting of rust or scratches? :)
I think he brought it up because MW3 has to do with realistic war, rather than dragon borns, skeleton, dragons, clans. Many kids dont understand it you know. MW3 is almost like a realistic war. So, chances of violence happening from that are higher than Skyrim.
now and past - head freckles are deleted for now (I will find a way to make more "realistic" freckles in the future-)the lips are now smaller and look more realistic than before. the head and the eyes are still the same but after getting a clue on how to modificate them in a intelligent way you will see a picture.
