More blockouts A little bit more work later, I have a pretty much finished blockout. Looking about 60-70 assets in the scene, so plenty work to keep me busy here. Production shall be starting in earnest next week so long as I've not missed anything in my pre-production.
@battlecow That comes out to about $60 per hour, which is stupidly high for a beginning freelancer. From my previous research on the topic, what seems like a pretty standard rate is $30 per hour, which imo is quite good if you have regular work. Of course everything is variable depending on your cost of living.
Update. Trying to finish this character in time for GDC on Friday! here's my progress I've made since my last update: * Finished modeling and sculpting. * normal maps are 95% complete * body diffuse is 90% complete * Armor Diffuse is 60% complete I'm using Unity 3d 3.5 to render and test my textures
Seems very unfair to require that. Making games is a team effort. What if you are working in a game where the design is awesome but because shitty animations, bad voice acting, poor technical optimization and bad camera work, your game gets a 60% rating. The game design portion was awesome but now the score will never…
yea, because they make sure you have a base shitty PKG with nothing you really want in there. Then you got to add extra 10channels package for HBO, another extra 10channel for AMC etc.... And if you want hockey games, thats another 10channels. So is like having 60 channels for 3channels that you wanted......
Hello all. Sorry, i'm late :p Here is a couple models that i've worked on. Dekoman, based on the Sony WM-2 Walkman: Keyboard, based on the Casio PT-10: Amplifier, based on the Roland Cube-60 Chorus: I hope you like it! :) More pics/Marmoset viewers on my Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/macebo
PIII 500 geforce2 20 gig (okay, i just upgraded a while ago, so it's now 60 gig) Read 'em and w... hey wait, i'm not cheapalert, why the fuck am i proud? Amusingly enough it runs better than my parents' 3ghz. I gave up fixing that one.
From what i remember even with the new version you just have to click "Remind me later" every time you open it, and it still works fine.... maybe after 60 days it stoped working, i dont know i just use fbx or obj now so i dont have a use for it.
It sounds like a great game. But I can't play these 60+ hours mega-epics anymore. I'm lucky if I get 4-5 hours a week to play games. This thing is just too much commitment. P.S. I flunked most of my 11th grade high school classes because of Baldur's Gate II.
@Zenarion MGS3 played in the 60´s (Cold War). But yeah, Ocelot and the henchmen wore the same pants. Fixed some things, made the upperbody look more clothed tweaked the shoulders and added a bit of stuff. I´ll give him a field cap later on, for now I´m off to bed. Thx for the comments guys!
