Morton - if it's not too late and you're still working on it, try making some more interesting silhouettes in the armor: e.g. the shoulder/arm bits - try to give the illusion that those plates are sticking out and properly overlapping - otherwise nice tex -AND GET THAT SPEC! -

Is everything snapped to your grid? It would help to align your pieces to the perspective grid in your viewport shots. Are models precisely scaled so their ends hit the grid lines? photoshop: increase sample rate?
I quite often like making swooping gestured brush movements in photoshop, but the results are often pretty dissapointing: ie what should be a nice curving arc is infact a series of short lines, like the movement is quantised.
