Wait a min, perhaps slightly off-topic but I thought hex only used 6 digits? As in: #FF9900 being 255-153-00 So how exactly would it work if you got nine digits? #0FFF006C1 = 025-125-?? I'm confused :[
WIP-001 Blockout I added a few extra things based on the model, because I though it was super duper cool. Theres this Sarcophgus like piece in the back of the immortal, I never knew what it was for but I always thought that was a really cool design choice.
Okay first. Use smooth edges when possible because the model becomes ugly. Have a concept! All mayor parts feels seperated without real function and the power pack and shell looking cheap like scaling x=1 y=0.5
Traffic in LA is terrible in general at all times of days, but if your going to go between Burbank and Pasadena I don't think it will be as bad as the rest of LA traffic. That being said, it's probably not going to be good, but it's going to be way better than trying to drive on the 405.
Is the 'crop to used UV space' intended to fit it within 0 to 1 space then expand it to fill it as much as possible? It did for me at one point, but when I was running it on other models it seemed to be filling 0 to 0.5 or maybe 0.4 space for some reason.

The heightmap looks like that because painter uses signed values for height. What would be 0.5 in designer is 0 in Painter. It's just a visual thing, your height should be fine. I've no idea about the displacement as I've never tried it
0 equals 4, and 1 equals infinity, and the mapping is not linear, its mapped so that 0.5 looks roughly halfway between 4 and infinity. If you want to know the math: horizontal is gloss value, vertical is blinn-phong exponent
