I was shooting for more of console and VR type models, but yes silhoette and major details should be encompassed in the low poly model, so I guess whatever you need to get the job done
Hmmm, good to know. I've only used them on hero elements in a couple VR projects. They probably live somewhere between additional geo and tessellation in terms of performance, but definitely makes the shader heavier.
There have been a bunch of Viking and Dark Ages Spawn action figures released by McFarlane Toys http://spawn.com/toys/categorytype.aspx?categoryid=4 You can even get Quicktime VR rotations of the models which'd be great for reference.
I'm also curious about the overhead for this. I checked out the demo (which is amazing by the way) but I'm pretty concerned about the impact this would have on performance in a VR game. It'd be great to get access to a dev build, if possible.
I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to it. I saw them a little while back with VR, with their new line up and thought it was great. Not as great as the original, but I can't really be choosy. I'm really hoping that FNM comes around here...

I've been long wondering why game engines haven't been used for proper shows yet. Seems so obvious to be rarely done. Could also just be a push into the hard core market? Or VR.
