Probably. If you edit the geometry, you change your vertex normals, and the normal map isn't good anymore. You have to generate one again with the 400 tris model.
I've also create a hunting spear used in War Hammer 40k by the Rough Rider Units of the Imperial Guard. I may plug this into Skyrim. I'm not too sure though.

40k polygons on Drake. I think the screenshots look believable to me. :/ I'm not sure why they would photoshop and post bullshots when they're trying to liscence out their engine.

Not really actually. Games last gen were pushing 30 - 40k already. In Ghostbusters, Egon was our heaviest character and he weighed in at around 27k with all his equipment.
