[SKETCHFAB]33b3926bb40a4fa9b6fbe07911b993ea[/SKETCHFAB] I've recently started creating the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and I am going to create a scene based around it in which the ship will be the main focus as it is being refuelled in the iconic Mos Eisley Space port dock scene.
:) Thanks for the input guys. There is currently 1 texture sampler call for the noise permutation array. I had it in code.. but with it there it took over 3300 instructions. If I can get this working in a light enough state the applications are near limitless to adding subtle realism to our worlds. Other people have done…
@cptSwing: You're true; the blocking process should work, and I tried several time (http://uppix.net/7/0/7/33a589eb94b1fa1b7891fb54c4828.jpg), but it seems to be more complicated that I expected. I have difficulties to visualize this specific part because I don't want to differ from concept.
Hi Beefaroni! Thank you very much for the paint over and apologies for taking so long to reply. You were absolutely right about my polycount, I was able to reduce it by over half -- 3336 faces original, 1320 optimized. I'm not sure how to reduce it anymore without breaking up the silhouette -- do you have any suggestions…
How do you do the debris animation @~53sec? custom scripts in Maya? or sections debris grouped together? And the transformation of the boss monster @~33sec? Blendshapes? Joint rig? Custom stuff?
First image is 2772 x 4609 pixels, so the file size is 8.42 MB. 2nd image is 6548 x 3392 pixels, 11.68 MB. If you used a max resolution of 1920, the file sizes would be more manageable. Try downloading the images after you post them, you'll see.
Finished the first pass of the low poly, currently sitting at 33k with an optimisation pass done. Will probably revisit the model again to see if I can cut it down a bit more. Crit and comments welcome! On to UV'ing :D
Would be useful to know your budget. Personally I would try to get the SSD into the build from the beginning if possible. SSDs are one of the best investments one can make in my opinion. Thanks to the fast access times (compared to HDDs) everything will feel much smoother (OS and programms start faster) and copying files…
This guy does lots of 2D tutorials. Might be able to pick up some techniques from the dude? http://jesusaconde.deviantart.com/gallery/ http://jesusaconde.deviantart.com/gallery/33402035/TUTORIALS
