haha yea, most people have no idea what studios make what. As far as they're concerned EA and ubisoft are both studios and they make about 75% of the games out there.
Daz: There are ways to get homebrew software into the DS but they involve at least a firmware flash. But as an employee of Ubisoft she probably has access to all the tools and may be able to get Ubi to publish it.
What about UBISOFT announcing that their PC sales were down 90% after the inclusion of their drm. Where is your proof that drm either raises or doesn't affect sales/piracy rates.
Love it. PS. Vincent, couple years ago I heard that Ubisoft uses Houdini, can you share some more info about this? Is is still used there? For what type of work?
You can make two things out of those statistics and they are that 1. GTA games are really cheap and easy to port, why would Rockstar else port them to the PC market if no one buys them? 2. The people in charge at Rockstar are complete morons who never learn anything. I mean why would they port GTA IV if the 3 other games…
SuperOstrich - as far as I am aware it's tied to the manufacturer of the hardware, not the publisher. So Ubisoft is always 3rd party whether or not they publish internally or externally developed titles, since they are not tied to a hardware manufacturer.
There is a good reason why THQ's stocks are sitting at 71c. They've had a one track mind on driving good studios into the ground with bad games. Honestly they're on par with Ubisoft's self-destruction.
All I can say for sure is that in many a game (especially Ubisoft's) I had to turn up the brightness like mad to see the walls in what was supposedly a well lit environment in the game.
I just finished assassins creed 3 and the ending seems to be open to another game? Ubisoft said earlier in the year this would only be a trilogy but it was left open. What do you think?
