Looking better with each update man. I think you need to bulk up the area where the leg supports connect with the main body as well as where the to little struts support the rear of the cannon. those are pretty key ares and right now they seem very weak an unfinished.
So cool to be seeing my texture and concept work in an actual game at last! In retrospect I shoulda done a better job on the AR concept, though using it to massacre the Johnny Reb was certainly entertaining enough. Also that has to be some of the most in-your-face exposition in a game ever.
I'm with predo on leaving the flashlight as is man. Could always tilt the cocking lever to 30* so it clears the screw; do like pedro says drop it back to the flat; or borrow a little from ar platforms and drop it back on top under the rails. oh, and eets sexy fo sho.
So weird, I've been collecting images on Ares for a while and have some of the same images. Great job man he looks really nice, I love how you've kind of almost included wings but not with the design on his chest. Parts looks a little samurai'ish but in a really good way.
EQ, thanks for the quick reply. Its part of an AR 15 model. Here is a zoomed out version: I don't know. To me it just doesn't look that great, but maybe I am being too anal about it. I'm talking about the area, of course, 'cause the gun is actually WIP.
I like how here you can see a tire smudge on the curb, and some areas that are worn off, other ares are perfectly painted still herer you can see the white under-coating on the curb paint or here, the curb has been badly damaged - this would be AWESOME to sculpt.
Looking nice (seat and vehicle). only minor thing, I kinda feel like the big damage on the seat could use a bit of a sharper.defined edge. http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/attachments/164-168-1991-1995/159168d1259795368-recaro-seat-damage-ar-164s-recaro-leather-web-.jpg
slowly modifying my polish under folder to have AR15 sights. I still have some work to do. Im going to put a tri rail for the foregrip and have a vert grip stick a flash light on the side and possibly co witness with an eotech. So far im loving the set up. Probably going to have to model this FTW.
Might not help, they've already tried this once. From the above-linked Ars Technica article: "In 2009, Time Warner Cable began testing caps from 5GB for $30 to a max (!) of 40GB for $55." They got laughed out of that plan, and with good reason, but if AT&T is at all successful here expect Time Warner to follow.
even know there is culling now, i still think starting with goldsrc and source engines teaches a lot about optimization, since since you had manually setup hint brushes for vis, it made you really think about your sight lines, and how to optimize ares as you made your levels.
