1 - the least alien-like and most functional design
17 - looks nice. The left side (I guess it's meant to be the front) reminds me a little of the megathron from EVE.

18 - but I would change / leave out the strange thingy / handle on the right end.
All in all most designs just look too much like a scifi-guns. I'm missing elements like engines, Antennas, Bridge
I agree that a lot of them look more like guns than ships but I think some of them have potential. Maybe narrow it down based on the comments then start working more on the selected thumbs.
2 - nice shape: it gives a lot of weight and mass. Great for a huge Battleship.
8 - I love the bottom part in the middle. I Imagine some Anti-SUrface-Railguns for planetary bombardement. Although the front and backside look to much like a fish.
9 - nice shape. SUggests some speed and manoeuvrability.
Maybe try to mix 2 and 8.

i think if you mixed and matched 5 and 8 you could get something cool
