This reminds me of American Mcgees Alice. Man I loved that game.
What the hell happened to the Jabberwock there? It looks like whoever was doing the sculpt didn't have any reference or even a vague description of what he looked like in the game.
Am I the only one who can't stand Bonham Carter? She looks cracked out and just....nasty...in every movie.
That's one thing I like about her. Same principle applies to Milla Jojovich... she's creepy looking, therefore cool. In fact, I think the same thing goes for Jonny Depp. Unusual, but symmetrical, therefore "beautiful."
I dunno, I think that's fair. Especially after the horrible piece of garbage Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was.
You want to call out a Tim Burton remake and that was the best you could do!?!!? Come on man, the only epic fail was Planet of the Apes. If you wanna hate on Burton at least pick out the one film that is worth hating on.
I absolutely fucking LOVE this new Alice. I can't wait. Where are you guys seeing pics of Depp as the Mad Hatter at, though?
I'm curious to see how Tim Burton does Lewis Carrol's alice in wonderland.
For those curious. Lewis Carrol was known to take amanitas, which are a known "magic mushroom" that tend to give a sense of shrinking and growing among other effects.
It's not that Burton is bad, it's just he's pretty one note type of guy and casting the same f@# two people in everything only amplify that.
Much better put than I would have. I really wish that he would get away from this same-shit remake-shit and do more stuff like Big Fish which really was original.
edit: speaking of batman 3......I think Marylin Manson would make a pretty sweet riddler all crazy and shit.
Following that tangent, the movie with Manson playing a delusional Lewis Carol is apparently still in development. Hard to know whether it'll be even slightly worth checking out, but it does sound intriguing at least.
OFF
New Batman movie needs Catwoman. I know it's hard to top Michelle Pfeiffer and that outfit, but if anyone can do it, it's Nolan.
ON
As far as I know it's not a remake, but more like a sequel to the original tale, which is why Alice is older in this one. So Burton has a completely new story here.
Alice in Wonderland has been done too many times before. There was already that creepy TV special from 1999 with the all star cast. I liked the books when I was a kid and the Alice game also, but I imagine this movie will be like the last TV special and feel like a bad trip. The world of wonderland is too disjointed and offensive to the senses for me. Experiencing it for too long results in headache or nausea. Most of the characters are either unlikeable or not human enough to relate to. The humans are caricatures so don't feel real at all and the rest are animals so are just like puppets. I'm sure if it's anything like most Hollywood movies the art will be amazing but everything else will be trash.
Done! Any movie that looks like what most would describe as an acid trip, that's based off a story that most are sure was written during an acid trip has my stamp of approval. Add on top of that Steven fry as the Cheshire cats and you have me fully sold!

Alice has always been my favorite as a kid growing up, because the world is the complete opposite of what we normally live in
Btw, here's a cool Trippy song using sounds from the Alice in wonderland movie

This stuff looks great
Seconded. Planet of the Apes was pretty bad. This could be perfect, though. A vehicle more suited to Burton's style.
