Took sketch above to a finished state. I've started exploring more designs in my sketchbook and I'll proceed to do a concept of a vehicle type next.

simple shapes lend itself to being really big or really small, should consider that.

Yup, I'll start adding larger res versions for finished concepts. Weapons I'll focus a lot more later when I have the gun platform figure out.

Current concept. Thinking about armour forms, mobility, role in battle, concealed weapons vs external firing structures.

It's definitely worth checking his stuff out as he's got an amazing eye for detail, especially when it comes to putting wear and tear on machines.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Keith Thompson's work. He's very good with steampunk styled mechs. I don't recall seeing that caterpillar one before but definitely gives me some idea with textures and component details.

Thanks morte! I plan to concept out at least 3 more and pick the one I like for the final. Or, if I can come up with one that combines stuff from all of these designs.

Getting better and better MS

Those buzzsaws should make for a pretty interesting final pic. I expect to see a lot of demon slaughter.

Right now it's hard to tell what scale you're going for with these things, but I'm sure you'll get that sorted out when you get on the design pass.
