Your Flash lighting is killing all the forms. Put the camera down/on a tripod turn off the flash and go again, and it'll be 10x better....

,but that said, f'ing sweet! You should put something common in the frame with him for scale reference.

Like the sculpt. I 2nd the request to see the sculpt.

Looks a bit like carved in snow

though there is really some detail for 6 inch.
I wonder if it gets easily broken? I imagine the horns broken apart first...looks so snowy.

The material is so white it's hard to get a good picture of him. the material is about 2 bucks a cubic cm. and he turned out to be 100 cubic cm ($200). i had to hollow him out to get it that low. You can go to shapeways.com and upload a .STL file and it will tell you right away how much it will cost to print. So long as it's at least 2mm thick there's no problems. It's actually a strong material, from tests that I've seen. You can bend it and will not break that easily. but I'm not testing that out myself, haha. I didn't put too much detail in there because unfortunately you can only upload up to 500k polygons. that's including the inside of the hollowed out model. so this model is only 300k polygons on the outside. it's probably a good idea to break the model up in sections. having the head, arms, legs, etc as separate prints then glue them together in the end like you do with a regular resin model.

oh man, i love 3D printing/rapid prototyping tech. It seems like shapeways uses an FDM printer, has surprisingly good quality for that.

awesome!

to photography it, you can try to put a couple warm lights on it,
one close to the model, and maybe one or two further away to fill up the other sides of the model (move them around a bit).
also try again with daylight, gives you a much higher shutter speed.

grab the curve editor in photoshop and curve out the extreem whites

good stuff!
