How to make a sphere in Zbrush that doesnt collapse?

Hey dudes, i dont get it, im sure iv done it before, but now every time i bring in a sphere from max to zb3.1 and try and subdivide, the center-eye vertex collapses/shoots out so some far out location and i got to flatten/smooth for like 10 mins to fix that shit. what am i doing wrong!

Have you tried using a turbosmoothed cube instead? I know it's not a perfect sphere, but at least it has no tris.

just subdivide a cube a couple of times and spherify the result, it's pretty close to a sphere
