Yes, I know go see an eye doctor, but I would like to check this first as its something that might be related to too much staring at screens.

Im getting these weird like convulsions in my right eye. I cant see anything in mirror like a twitching eyelid muscle, but it happens so fast I might be missing it.

Someone suggested that its from staring at screens too long and to look away more often and focus in distance. I have been doing this already, but maybe not enough? I have been doing a bit of overtime with staring to get those fine details on high rez models and in PS. Does this sound familiar to anyone else here? Hell, maybe its just a vitamin deficiency.

I get the ol' twitchy eye with too much coffee and screen time. It doesnt happen at all if I cut out the caffeine

Even the most healthy people I know get little twitches here and there, so I doubt it's related to overall health. I think caffeine, lack of sleep and PC screen time are the culprits. I get little twitches sometimes as well, including eyelids. The most annoying one I've had was '01, made the bridge of my nose "scrunch" up like a dog snarling. Granted it wasn't noticeable to anyone - it was just enough for me to feel but not be visible. DAMN that was annoying. Went on for about a week and a half.

Cut back on the caffeine and be sure to take a 5 min break per 45min-hour of screen time. Get up and walk around the office, focus your eyes on distant stuff. Get more sleep!

My expert medical diagnosis: I'll bet it's an eye spasm from stress. I get them occasionally. Nothing you can do except lower stress levels, or heavily medicate

Just drink some alcohol.
That or drink more coffee and power through it.
If you are really pro you can just gouge out your eye.

I've gotten this as well man, I strongly agree that it is from lack of sleep plus many hours staring at the screen, but I don't drink coffee so I don't know if that adds an extra twitch in the mix.

I usually get it under my left eye, and it is noticeable if you stare at it... good news though, I haven't had it for awhile, and it only lasts a night (before I go to sleep).

So just take a break

well its serious I had a friend who had something like that once. Turn out it was eye cancer. Hes fine now. But he cant do 3d no more. Infact he cant even SEE

Happens once in awhile. It's muscle strain for sure. Usually happens during gameplay marathons, lots of sprites to micro manage. Not as much when working though. Quick surfing breaks probably helps refresh the eyes.

iv had this in my left eye, as if some small muscle in the eyelid just twitches on and off real fast, i had it for maybe 3-4 days randomly throughout the day, then it went away. its just stress and what not id say..

edit, iv actually had it in my thumb aswell, pretty dodgy to see your finger just twitch by itself..that went away too..

yeah my eye does this when I'm tired, never put two an two together on the caffeine though. i get real self conscience when I'm talking to people I'm scared they're thinking (OMG his eye is totally moving FREAK!) but in reality no-one can actually see it.

It happens to me whenever I'm under a greater than normal amount of stress. Like first dates... Don't bother with a doctor imho.

Well I don't do caffeine, but I do have f'ed up hours/schedule. So sleep could be the culprit. Damn its annoying though. I guess I will go and eats more bananas and listen to some Mariachi. This guy is sure to get them out.

This happens to me from time to time as well. It's usually a sign of a lack of magnesium. If it bothers you a lot you can buy Calcium-Magnesium tablets from just about any drug store. Do you by any chance get pain in your legs as well?

Left eye twitches from time to time,

Two months ago i started getting slight red eyes wich lasted about a week, also a burning feeling, then you know youve had enough fun and you can take the week off.

yeah this just happens when you stay up too long, probably related to eye strain more than stress imo, staring at a computer too long, not blinking much etc

Yup it's body stress related, take a break for a day or two and it will go away, little sleep. Really taking 5min breaks from your work will help too. I had that problem before too. If it keeps up then see a doc.
