Mudbox is a bit different from ZB, the workflow would still be laying down large clumps and then accenting with star strands. You'll have to do it with stencils instead of brushwork and using fewer poly, definitely more challenging, but it depends on your definition of convincing. Main concern is that that the hair looks different at rest versus at a run.
