Pirate Casino

Hey guys,

First post here, and I'm hoping for some feedback on a demo reel piece that I've been working on for awhile now.

This is my first demo reel piece. Basis for this casino was thinking different from what I've seen in demo reels from the past, and twisting it a bit more. I've done a bunch of work over the past few days, layout mostly as well as building some smaller props. My instructor threw some insight into it for layout purposes in class, and it seems to work well, I think anyways.

For the next few days, I hope to build some signs as well as some smaller props for the sides (doors, sink for the bar, etc.) Some UVing has been done while working, but I switch back and forth between modelling and UVing.

I'm also thinking about adding some more models onto the tops of the slot machines, as you see I already have in the pictures, but I don't want to stray too far from the whole realistic theme. Thoughts?

Feedback and crits are always welcome.

Cool, I really like the pirate ship standing there instead of a car. Good luck with finishing it.

looks like you have bulges on all the slots and electonic machines. since they're mostly touch screen and lcd screen based these days they would be perfectly flat. could save you a few polies. also looks like they're all mirrored. there's probably quite a few polygons that could be shaved without any noticable difference in shape.

Just wondering if I should throw some props on top of the machines, a la my skull ones. Might give more to the pirate feel, but less to the whole realistic aspect? Any takes on that?

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Keg: They were all mirrored. I'll change the screens tonight and should have an update for tomorrow. Thanks for the help. :)

Update! I've started texturing the objects for this scene. I have just about everything major I want built and placed. The only things it needs are the Cash Cage and Security for major points. Some signs are going to be built showing denominations for the slots and the tables soon.

I've come up with a name, "Blackbeard's Doubloon" and the carpet texture has this in mind.

Feedback and crits are always welcome.
