Hello,
With the new forum software one of our goals was to develop the forum further than the previous incarnation. So with that, we now have fully embedded video sharing at Polycount. Sites likeYouTube, Google Video, Amazon, mySpace, etc. should all be working.
It's purpose is to help show examples of things when looking for help, offering help, or finding anything great that is related to the craft we all share. Not to mention make the Thread of Awesomeness™ even awesomer. Of course, there's some rules to this new feature, you can see them at the bottom of this post.

If you must post a video of a monkey drinking its own piss, a baby laughing, afro ninja, or any such Awesomeness you can do that in the thread I linked to above. If this new feature is abused, and single posts start popping up to show an off-topic video, the post will either be moved or deleted. If it continues we'll just disable the add-on for good. We do, however, encourage the use of this for showing tutorials, artwork, and so on.

I will also be deleting posts and giving infractions to people who post unacceptable content or spam stupid videos in other people's threads using this. I am sure everyone here is mature enough to use it sensibly.
To use the tool: Just paste the videos URL here and the tools will do the rest. So if its a video on YouTube, you'd post the YouTube URL.
NOTE: You will -NOT- see the video in the previews of your post if you choose to view one.

To use QuickTime movies: You must post the direct .mov URL and it must fit within a 640x480 window otherwise it'll be cropped and the controls will likely be out of frame.

Controls sometimes show sometimes dont. Also looping clips dont loop, which is a shame its whole reason ive bothered uploading quicktime
Basically, a Quicktime video starts up, Quicktime detects a new version, the popup takes a big shit on Firefox. Sucks, and I don't know a fix.
