A Great Day

I've been working a lot lately. I enjoy my work immensely, doing all kinds of 3d game art.

But today was a wonderful Sunday because I took off completely; which is very rare for me. I enjoyed the weather, and performed some household chores.

Has anyone else had a day recently when they were completely at peace and feeling very rested?

Most days that are "rest" days I feel kind of bored, the days that are sublime for me are the days where I seem to be blazing through everything with effortless ease. Like everything is just working, with my art or just daily doings. Those are the days that lead to a good night's sleep.

I try to take every Sunday off and hang out with my wife, walk along the beach, get some coffee and just chill out. Not just in this industry, but I think people in general need to unplug more...turn off the cell and relax. Glad to hear you had a great day

Unplugging the phone doesn't really work for me. Then I keep wondering who's trying to reach me, for what reason, and how many annoyed messages that's on my voicemail once I turn my mobile back on.. =P

I can relate with that feeling, been like that for a while for almost 5 months for me, its always nice to just take some unplug time, finally got some of that not to long ago.

I slept all damn day and then slept more when my gf came by. woke up and saw the tornado warnings... slept even more. Pretty fking peaceful if I say so.

Rather forcibly so thanks to my Wacom's pen dying on me. Wacom doesn't screw around on the price for a new one either, do they? Buying one of those new bamboo's is actually cheaper than a new pen.

I love days where I feel inner peace.
Generally that feeling is ruined by the appearance of friends though...
I enjoy my friends but there are days I want to be around them and days I do not.

I'm the exact same way. It's made worse because on the "rest" days I end up feeling anxious all day because I feel like I should be doing something productive. :P

It is great to have those really good days where you just feel at peace though. Glad you hit one man.

GET A LIFE. Work is NOT your life. Make that Sunday a full time experience every saterday and sunday. And,....TAKE VARIOUS WEEKDAYS OFF. Your Future sanity depends on it.

I like days like I had this weekend; got work done on the cuda, was able to help my parents with some projects, met with friends, was able to sleep in, weather was nice... I felt like I'd accomplished something with my time, and still had a relaxing evening.

spring or fall climbing all day with my friends somewhere remote and drinking beers in the evening. sleeping in the tent checking out the stars.

Working 12 hour days, hitting the gym, going out to bars with friends for beers and pool, spending quality time with my son on the weekend, and currently catching up on Lost. That's my life for the past few months.
