Directx materials in 3ds max 2008?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but the option to view materials as Directx shaders is gone from the usual spot in the Material editor. Where is it found now?
I downloaded the trial though, is that any different from the DVD version?

It's a little faster than previous versions since you don't have to click a checkbox halfway down the material first, THEN turn on the display.
