so i'm wondering with all the new games coming out, why aren't there any posts about the naruto 360 game? OMFG its soooo cool!!!! that type of posts...
I have it coming in on gamefly, should be here in a few days.. supposed to be a pretty solid game, but I hear it's really short.. my cousin finished everything in 4 hours.
i've also heard 'best naruto game to date' though.. but I don't know, naruto gekitou ninja taisen 4 looks like it still is to me
i have it. it's a pretty decent game but it has the feeling that there could have been a lot more to it.
the story is rather glossed over at times, using standard definition clips from the anime for plot points. the story itself goes from episode 1-80, up to the end of the Chunin Exam and Naruto's fight with Gaara.
you only get to play as Naruto so some the fights are only shown through the clips (Kakashi vs Zabuza, Sasuke vs Haku, ect..)
the fighting system is a little more complex than the Ultimate Ninja games (at least the first one which is the only one i've played) but isn't that balanced and lacks the number of fighters. only Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Kiba, Neji, Rock Lee, Gaara, Orochimaru, Zabuza, and Haku are available to fight as. there's no practice mode for the VS mode which sucks as depending on the character you chose to fight against the computer can be pretty relentless even on the easiest difficulty (Sakura won't give you any space to breathe while Sasuke jumps around all the time trying to do air combos).
there are supposed to be several things available as downloadable content soon. Shikamaru in VS and Online fighting, with Jiriaya, the 3rd Hokage and Choji also supposedly going to be available. Japanese voices are also in the works.
it's a good effort for the first non-Japanese Naruto game but it could have been filled out a little more. i would like to have seen the anime scenes retold with ingame models and a few non-Naruto fights added in.
picked it up and played a bit, its gorgeous, but i found myself glossing over the fact that its really well done cell shading after a while and it lost its luster a bit. Its still fun as hell, i love the fighting sequences... collecting coins for random jerkoffs can die.
I too, am not an anime fan... but the game looks awesome and am playing for the pretty Could really care less about the story, but i'm trying to care a little. It constantly reminds me of how much i hate anime though.
I picked it up to day on the strength of the visuals. I've never actually seen the cartoon. I've got a question - I've made my way to the boss fight after you escort the bridge builder to the Land of Waves or whatever it was called. It took me a couple of tries but I eventually took him down. Then it plays the cutscene again and the fight restarts for no apparent reason. Is this bugged? Was there something I was supposed to do and missed it? Is this just really crappy design?
the repeat fights are a bastard, especially against kiba where you're gimped.

yeah and dattebayo or just 'tebayo (as he usually shortens it too) sounds way the hel cooler than beleive it o_o; 'tebayo =P
He pronounces it (tay- bye - yo) and he usually just kinda mutters it so you barely notice it... after episode 80sh most fansubbers just stop adding it into the translation

gorgeous game. not going to reiterate the points asherr made. yeah, the SD clips were poor and Japanese voice options would be GREAT.
the generic ninjas were pretty lame fillers.

Pros.
Visually the game is really good as mentioned.
I do like the game / anime video mix.
My complaints are:-
The Tree hoping thing is pointless
The finishers are poor QTE's wish, pulling off tekken 10 hit combos are easier lol
The talking / questioning mode is lame, u can only ask one topic at a time
I will be forever humming the konoha idle music as it repeated 7000 times during the races/ hide and seek missions.
and apparently if i raid bins i will become a rich man lol

nope he is pretty tolerable. no "BELIEVE IT!" every other word, though the subtitles still have it but reading isnt as bad as hearing
