The name of the application (virtualbox) strongly suggests it's just virtualisation. Certainly nice to have, but not quite the same as just an abstraction layer (like wine), which is supposedly much less of a drain on resources.

Yeah, from the program's page it's just another VMware. They're not running Max on Linux, they're running Max on Windows on Linux.
