I made this weapon for the game Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy

On the site i sent it to, it's not getting a very good rating(6.7 out of 10) I need some suggestions on how to make it better. If need be, I'll get some shots in-game so you can see the sizing.

Heres a couple things that are very noticable, the smoothing along the top end of the blade makes the model look akward. In addition, the hilt is really thin for a sword that big, even being a completely impossible sword, it makes it kind of unbelieveable. Also, the texture isnt really doing anything to make the sword more interesting. If you take a look at the sc3 version of the sword, there is lots of detail in the hilt and guard. that's taken in Gmax. Not very good at rendering. And that's...a lot of detail on the guard. This is the picture I used for that.

Not as much detail, as you can see, although I could make mine better

its not about detail, its about texture consitensy, so far it seems only primary colours , and in that pic alone theres far more lightning information than in the one you showed.

I remade the guard and the rings. I also modified the blade, which I think will get rid of that strange rendering. I also made the handle bigger.
