HL2 love thread

I just got HL2 running on my mac, in windows and I must say that the new DX9 full bloom effect is stunning. I really haven't touched this game in over a year and was impressed with "lost coast" - I even got over to the town that you are not meant to get to with my sandbox skills.
The mac ran it sweetly to my surprise, the internal fans didn't even switch on! (I thought they would be going ballistic like with my old laptop) Unfortunately I can't get it to support my native rez of 1680 x 1050 in 16:10 (I'm sure there's a way of hacking this)
I was wondering though, does anyone know how long we are going to have to wait for episode2 / portal / TF2?
I'm really salivating their release, and to be honest can't be bothered to run through HL2 again. I got bored with it from the train depot scene, stack boxes for about 2 hours and generally couldn't stop sandboxing.
