The Nintendo DS Lite came out yesterday, and they are selling like crazy! Who got one?
A pile of us at Mythic got them, and are enjoying the festive gaming. Previous importers are cool too.

    Mine was waiting for me on my desk when I got in this mornin. Now I need to find an easy way of flashing my firmware so I can play homebrew games again (scummvm = very yes).

    I'm also looking to sell my previous DS (not lite), if anyone here is interested. My blue one is already firmware flashed for homebrew, but I can just as easily sell my wife's silver one if you prefer. $80 + shipping if it ends up going over $10. I've never shipped anything before, so don't know how much it might cost. pm me if interested.

    Also, for those with lites and games like Metroid Hunters or Magnetica (omgawesome), you can buy slimmer versions of the rumble paks from Nintendo's japanese site. Not sure when they would make their way for sale in the states.

    SCUMMVM on the DS? How does that handle the resolution difference? My PDA has a 320x240 screen so that works but the DS is something like 256x192, right?

    it downsamples on lower screen while having the upper screen focus on the pointers area, in true pixelsize, or the other way around.

    damn I wish I knew that, could have done a roaring trade on export over the past month! laugh.gif

    my GF got a DS Lite to play nintendogs (in english and my freaking copy!) and I must say, it is sexy, and so is the DS Lite.

    One thing I noticed is that the DS Lite has MUCH brighter screens. The colours just look washed out on my normal DS when compared.

    60 dollars? are you mad? the going 2nd hand price of a ds in Japan is almost 200 dollars. they are as rare as rocking horse shite! In fact my GF had to get que for an hour just to get the DS Lite, this is about a month after they came out, and only got one because they store decided to hold a lottery instead of selling first come first served.

    i'm waiting til it comes in another color. White is not for me. Or.....I'll get an import if i cannot wait.

    Got mine yesterday along with Advance Wars Dual Strike and New Super Mario Brothers. It's a bit odd using the stylus since I'm left handed but I'm really enjoying it.

    Overstock.com said they just shipped it (got it for $116 preordered, free shipping). Unfortunately I did not order any games, I was counting on ordering a cartridge that has a slot for an SD card so I can do homebrews and the like but I don't know which to choose or where to buy. Any help? thx. Also, anyone interested in making a side-scrolling pixel game?

    I personally find the old DS way too small for my hand, i dont even want to know what the Lite would do to my hands.

    I'm thinking about a Lite but I'm not selling my old DS either way. It's useful for when friends are over since I only know PC gamers.
