E3 productivity?

I'll admit it, I'm sitting in a quiet, empty office, most everyone gone off to E3, and while I should be enjoying the kinder, gentler environment and getting piles and tons and great wobbly clumps of shit done, I've actually accomplished fuck all.

Maybe it's post-crunch malaise, but honestly, this crunch wasn't all that bad for me. I've certainly been through worse. Most likely, I'm just in screw-off mode and the usual incentives to break out of it are away in LA!

Anyone else stayed behind to be productive and found that it's just ... not ... working?

I'm still getting work done, but not much. Been watching conferences and updated videos most of the day.

I came in late yesterday, went to lunch at 1:00 and spent the rest of the day getting trashed at the bar. My wife was so pleased with me when I staggered through the front door sometime around 9:00pm last night.

In all fairness to myself, however, I did work straight through from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon on an E3 crunch for a client.

Yup, I'm in here @ work too, its 5PM, and I've done fuck-all today. All the big cheeses are at E3 and to be quite frank, I've nothing to do. It's great.

I was still productive today but I took care of some of the things that theres never time to take care that aint hi priority and I spent some time putting posters up of the new work we'd gotten together for E3 and I caught up on the press releases of other games like Halo3 , MGS4 , Lost Planet etc...

So yeah, slacking off a bit, but still making the most of the downtime.

Lair looks f-ing hot !
Mario Galaxy is going to be the shit...
Zelda and metroid on the Wii
Learning Halo 3's footage is real-time ..wow !
crysis and Lost planet look really good also

Disappointed by lack of Mass Effect coverage & were is Dragon Age ?

yeah today has been a waste, tomorrow and friday i'll be here by myself just about so i'll be able to get work done then for sure, but today everyone is goofing off and its pretty distracting

I spent monday playing everquest 2 in the office... took tuesday off... today I browsed the net and doodled... did about 30 mins worth of work while checking out all the e3 stories and media from the sexy sexy games

since i just started working on monday, im not checking the e3 news until the end of the day. Sometimes I see one of the other guys checking out a trailer, like i saw the MGS4 trailer today, loooks sweet! and Gears of war looks awesome!

We can't use the internet to any real extent at work since the E3 game server is being run locally, instead of where the other servers are. So I'm just gonna work from home the next two days.

Proabably easier now that I don't have all the distractions from other people playing games and goofing off.
