Finally a teaching oportunity

Looks like the hounding has paid off. I'm in talks currently for giving an entire course at the Gnomon School in Los Angeles. I'll be in charge of the "Character Creation for Games" class running from June to September if all goes well. I'm extremely psyched about this as I've been aching for a chance to have a class of my own for an extended period instead of a one-time lecture. I'll post more details as/if it becomes finalized, in case any Polycounters in the area want to sign up for some Poop loving.

One thing I found helped me was to keep my ears open. It was easier than I thought to pick up a trick or two from students' suggestions, helped keep me grounded too.

one thing i discovered about teaching to college students, is that no matter how much you try and make meet your due dates, they still wait to the last minute, like i did in college. Also, demonstrating the things you've learned to someone else and seeing them apply that to their work, so you know one of them understood it

*bump* It's official. June 26th - August 10th 4-7 pm on Saturdays. Looks like the tuition is 1,600 USD, I'd do it for free if it was up to me, but Gnomon sets the fee.

I'll try to upload as much of my teaching material as possible, but if you're in the LA area, you should think about signing up. Polycounters get teacher's pet points.
