PS CS2 'Menu Freeze'

Anybody encounter this problem or have a solution to it?
Sometimes the menus will just stop working, you can try and click on the menu titles all you want, but the menus won't come up. Sometimes, the menus will come up, but they don't actually 'work'. It's quite the annoyance because sometimes it will happen several times a day. If you're working on a file that's been saved before, you -can- press ctrl-S to save it and then re-open PS.
Today I lost a bit of work to it, because it happened on a new file that I hadn't saved yet.

i have never encountered the problem on my pc
Also seen it happen when switching from multiple monitors to a single monitor, but a palette opens off-screen. Fixable, but ugly.
