Wireless Mouse good enough for gaming

Hey i'm looking at getting a wireless mouse/keyboard set-up. I was wondering if any gamers out there that play faster games like UT or Quake have one and notice any loss in the connection while playing. Maybe I could get some suggestions, i'd prefer an ambidextrous mouse but will look at others too. Thanks!

I use a wireless mouse to play Tribes 2. I have a logitech 700mx. Works great. There may be small delays if you're picky, but I don't have any issues personally. They are even better these days

It's not really the connection I would worry about, but the added weight of the batteries that will really annoy you while playing FPS and such faster games.

The mx700 is definitely heavier, but it's not a big deal for me. I'm a larger guy though (6' 5") and small light mice are more annoying to me

Also, the mx700 comes with a charging stand, so your batteries don't die... if you keep it in the charger when not in use.

thanks guys, never thought of the weight factor but yeah that probably would get annoying. DO they generally take 2 AA's? Maybe i'll see if i can try one out at future shop.

I wonder how these combo wireless keybourd/mouse setups are.

I use the MX1000 from Logitec and it is an amazing tool.

The combos usually include the same mouse you can buy, and add the keyboard. My wife has the MS combo, and I don't like the keyboard. It has a large delay sometimes, and it can't keep up with my typing. She really likes it though.

As for the batteries, like I said, the mx700, and the mx1000 that MILES mentioned, have built in batteries. They are rechargeable and come with a charging station. So you can check them out at the store and tell how the weight would be.
But yeah, the non-rechargeables usually take a couple AA's. My wifes combo takes them.

JK: It's not necessarily worse to have a heavier mouse, after all some high-end mice come with weights you can add if the mouse is too light for you.

But you are right, it is a matter of taste to a certain extent. I am used to an extremly light hardcore gaming mouse (but I still suck, damn it's the sk1lls not the hardware) and those wireless mice feel like bricks to me.

i remember some people that used to love the ball rolling mice because you could spin them and wing them off the desk surface.

the weight of the batteries isn't bad at all and overall its a very nice mouse

i like it better than any of the corded ones i've had and it performs well in games too.
