blender's LSCM unwrapping tool will have live feedback in the next release (2.4) it looks pretty handy:

too bad i really can't watch the video, as it exceeds the height of my res slightly.

cheap. try craigslist.com you can get a system for under 100 bucks that owns your 233mmx... please... so i can stop seeing these posts... it's murder to a geeks eyes. I'm still trying to get a laptop for you here. we have about 4 availible, but my ceo is in europe for 3 weeks.

what specs are you at so i can see if this is worth doing.

kdr - on firefox with quicktime alternative? nope. Oddly, the F11 key doesn't work either, so instead i just switched to the eye-buggering 1280x1024x60hz instead.

downsizer - I DO NOT HAVE A P233 FOR A MAIN COMPUTER ANYMORE (for 2 years now), I AM USING AN ATHLON 1000MHZ WHICH I COMPLETED HL2 AND D3 ON HIGH DETAIL WITH. I do not need computer contributions from anyone and I already have ordered my new computer parts. (slow shipping, also the bad weather makes it even slower)

Firefox? I'm using BS Player. Since .mov can be downloaded, viewing in the browser shouldn't be necessary.

I just grabbed 2.4 today and only looked at the animation stuff which already had a comprehensive tidy up. Looks like the dev team did a hell of a lot of stuff in other areas!
