See thats what "next gen" is all about, making your shit look as good as movies by useing the same things they use but in real time. They dont have super high res models, or overdone normal maps, they have full screen shaders that give it the look of a movie. You dont need meshsmooth to make the kids go "Oh oh i want that!" just enough shaders to make your ears bleed.

maybe if DOD was a 3rd person game, but I dont see why it should be so difficult to see anything through your eyes. Colour correction, depth of field or even motion blur is all pausable, but grain? and blurriness, thats just too much to swallow.
